Reviews

"The CD opens with three Russian songs by Glinka, which directly touch the soul by their simplicity and yearning melodies. The trio of Franck has a melancholic subsoil. Iberts Trio (originally for harp, violin and cello) sounds typically French and graceful. The CD also includes five dances by Shostakovich: pleasant and sometimes humorous pieces, without the drama of his symphonies. As a bonus track a sensual samba from Scaramouche by Milhaud is included. Both the choice of repertoire and the performances are excellent. We can’t wait for commissioned works by contemporary composers for this special trio."

Akkoord Magazine (no. 42) about trio42's Debut CD

"The subtle tones between violin and harp were supported by the soft sonorous melody of the saxophone. Remarkable was their constant and accurate eye contact. [The first piano trio of C. Franck was] played with rising and falling intensity as if it was an autumn storm. The audience appreciated it with loud applause."

"The interaction between the three instruments was very good. They played with splashing enthusiasm and musicality. The harpist managed to get the best out of his instrument with his beautiful and enthusiastic playing. The trio was rewarded with thunderous applause and flowers."
